Synopsis
One afternoon at the mini-golf, Anouk’s ball just won’t stay still. Faïza is playing for her job interview, Chacha and Marc are completing their own Tour de France. As for Gautier, on a romantic date with Claire, he regrets having left his notebook with her son, Alain, 11 years old. The Deep Dark Hole tells the slices of life of a dozen people whose common point is their attempt to relax, a golf club in hand. Their other common point: struggling with the concept of relaxation.
Our take
Behind the seeming lightness of this comedy from the creators of 18h30, the surprising Down the hole takes us to a mini golf course for the afternoon. In this colourful arena, both the balls and the players’ hopes swing big, and each stroke becomes decisive. Mixing humour and melancholy, the successive stories reveal the characters’ impossible quest to be carefree.
