Serie: 4 x 25min
Synopsis
The Flaws are the typical employees of a German government office – quiet, obedient and spectacularly bad at their jobs. Protected by a compassionate boss they face dismissal when consultants audit the department—until a lucky mix-up reroutes them to an advanced training program. Stranded on an autonomous bus, they find themselves on an absurd journey straight into professional disasters, including hospital mayhem, a mini revolution on forklifts, and an ill-advised attempt to enter heaven.
Our take
Are you a fan of Charlie Chaplin? Or Buster Keaton? Jacques Tati? Absurdist humour? The Flaws ticks all of those boxes and adds a few of its own. Led by the German behind the concept, the series relies on a perfect symbiosis between its performers. True virtuosos of physical comedy, they use gestures borrowed from the circus arts to transform every scene into a burlesque ballet, their chemistry infusing the series with a unique personality and energy. Beyond the precisely timed gags, The Flaws is a sharp and funny reflection on the absurdity of contemporary society and our relationship with work.
