Synopsis

Set in the history of Reunion Island, Unchained revisits a pivotal era on the eve of the first slave revolts. For his debut creation, Alain Moreau focuses on depicting the moral dilemmas of characters in search of emancipation. Directed by Laure de Butler (37 Seconds), this period drama, with its sweeping romantic undertones, offers a singular and essential look at the lives of both the enslaved and the colonizers, prioritizing immersion and the human experience.
