Synopsis
Having arrived in France six months ago, Shadi wavers between adaptation and loneliness. As the Iranian New Year approaches, her meeting with Arezou – a radiant, spontaneous Franco-Iranian woman – turns her daily life upside down. Their friendship becomes a space for a search for freedom and a fragile sense of stability, shaped by exile, friendship, love, and political awakening.
Our take
Accessible even to those who have not seen the first season, this new chapter of Happiness follows Shadi, now an adult living in France, through a coming-of-age journey marked by gravity. Torn between homesickness and the struggle of Iranian women, the heroine navigates sisterhood, new romances, and political urgency. A bittersweet narrative of burning relevance, it skillfully weaves the upheavals of contemporary history into the intimate lives of young women in pursuit of freedom.
